    TIPS & TRICKS

To be a Dungeon Master of a Warcraft game is not easy. Here are a few things I think could be useful to any Dungeon Master (DM):

1. Be sure you have a cool story prepared. It's better and helps the game make sense. Don't start a game and improvise!

2. First of all, set up guidelines and rules of conduct before starting the game.

3. Don't be afraid to use PAUSE/UNPAUSE to take control of situations, and allways have a DM Waypoint selected.

4. Take control/possession of any creature you want to use. The DM system allows the DMs to order the creatures that are not yours to do some things, but I recommend taking possession of them for best control. Possession is one of the most important tools of the DM.

5. Take care to properly create units/objects to avoid them just appearing.

6. Use Premade Unit groups and Premade Quests while you prepare the next Quest or the next encounter.

7. Learn to change music, time and weather effects to create a cool atmosphere for your story.

8. Use the Set Conversation action to set important aspects of the story through a conversation with the specified unit; so you don't have to watch over the players all the time and tell them what they have to do.

9. Learn to use Waypoints properly. They're very useful and can help you in most situations.

10. Remember that you can set up Diplomacy stuff so players don't attack each other accidentally.
11. Design early adventures in a linear manner, especially if the party is inexperienced, as this will give them the opportunity to learn their abilities, strengths, and limitations.

12. Create a custom DM character for yourself, so if you NEED to pop in to point someone in the right direction, you can without disrupting game flow.

13. And last but not least, remember: Know your adventure well so the players and YOU can have fun.
